A really nice site. One of the sections took me to a dark place where I had to throw flames so I could read the text, and lighten the whole area, brilliant. The main menu interface isn’t too bad either.

Lovely online ad (You’ll want to close down the Orange Balloon widget that appears first though).

A nice campaign from Honda, where you can control a car from a website, well sort-of…

After having a bit of a moan at Honda’s pre-launch strategy, I do actually like the launched site.
I love the open canvas exploration style navigation that the site uses. There are a few other things to find other than the main sections of the site, but not as well done as Orange Unlimited. Most of the sections are well done, although the video of Jenson Button needed a buffer animation. It links in well with the TV ads, which remind me of a children’s TV programme called Art Attack where they would make huge works of art using everyday objects on a huge scale. I love the little men animations also, the jigsaw car section (shown below) is really nice.

It’s all about cars today..
I like this one though from Fiat (can’t say It would make me buy the car though from the look of it). They are holding a launch party and in the meantime, Danny Wallace talks about lots of random things in the meantime. A simple concept, but fun. Also, I love the Fiat showcases, a nice engaging way to do the classic 360 panoramic shots that have become standard on car websites nowadays.

Honda have launched another website. Well kind-of.
They have launched a small microsite showcasing their hybrid car, which in itself is quite nice, especially the idea of navigating by rotating the car, but what I don’t get is the idea of having a jigsaw puzzle in order to capture data so they can let people know when the real site will launch. I think it will lose people who would have gone to it if they had just launched the whole thing in one go rather than waste budget on this. You ‘help contribute’ to the jigsaw by adding a piece before being asked for your details to enter a competition, and then you can scroll around the jigsaw, but I cannot find a way of zooming in or out to see the whole picture, which seems to make the whole thing pointless to me. But maybe I’ve missed something here, and the whole joy of the jigsaw thing will be revealed on the 4th February. Oh Joy!
