Now this is a really nice example of a flash website. Sour Sally’s frozen yogurt is a flash website with a lovely hand-drawn art style and charming music. You can navigate by using the mouse to fly Sally around on her ballon or click to pop it and walk using the arrow keys. There are also hidden ingredients to find around the site which reward you with a gift if you find them all.

Unfortunately the site is a little low on content, but it’s engaging and intuitive and actually fun to use.

Some really nice navigation in effect here. You still have quick links if you want, but to float around 3D rooms using a simple mouse drag control system has been done really well.

After having a bit of a moan at Honda’s pre-launch strategy, I do actually like the launched site.

I love the open canvas exploration style navigation that the site uses. There are a few other things to find other than the main sections of the site, but not as well done as Orange Unlimited. Most of the sections are well done, although the video of Jenson Button needed a buffer animation. It links in well with the TV ads, which remind me of a children’s TV programme called Art Attack where they would make huge works of art using everyday objects on a huge scale. I love the little men animations also, the jigsaw car section (shown below) is really nice.

An amazing website that gathers the feelings of bloggers from around the world. The interface (using a technology called Processing) is outstanding, with lovely little effects of all the particles either sticking to or flying away from the mouse like a magnet.

I have seen lots of photography sites and fashion sites on the web, but none of them quite have the same intuitive interaction design as this one. It is so easy to use. You don’t have to move your mouse much to navigate through all of the photos, and the zoom function works great. Also, for such high definition images, the loading time is very reasonable. Fantastic minimalist interface. If all sites thought about the way in which users interact with a website then the Internet would be a much more efficient place.

A while back I saw a blog post about the 3D interface in the Colin McRae Dirt game, and how nice it would be to create a web version of this interface. Now it has been done by this agency. Beautiful isn’t a strong enough word.

Interesting use of navigation on this site, but amazingly intuitive, and actually works quite nicely.
