Drake’s Fortune FHM TakeoverPosted by Adrian in Online Advertising, tags: drake's fortune, overlay, playstation, video, video gameA nice, user-friendly site from Honda. What I really like though about this site is the questionnaire section. Web forms can be a bore to fill in at the best of times, but it is refreshing to see some effort made in keeping the questionnaire process more bearable by using animation in between sections.

3D InterfacePosted by Adrian in Navigation, Websites, tags: 3d Animation, agency, interface, NavigationA while back I saw a blog post about the 3D interface in the Colin McRae Dirt game, and how nice it would be to create a web version of this interface. Now it has been done by this agency. Beautiful isn’t a strong enough word. Jambor-ee are currently running a 24-day advent calendar-style tutorial on how to get the most out of the CMS Expression Engine. Nice stuff. Interesting use of navigation on this site, but amazingly intuitive, and actually works quite nicely.

Improving email clientsPosted by Adrian in Email Marketing, Our Views, tags: Accessbility, css, email, gmail, hotmail, html, lotus notes, standardsAs an advocate of web standards, it is continually frustrating to have to develop HTML emails in technology which is over 5 years old. The support for CSS within emails had been steadily improving over the last few years. That is until Outlook 2007. But Microsoft are not the only culprits. Indeed Google’s Gmail, and Lotus Notes, both of which have a high amount of users, also provide bad support. These are the findings of a new online campaign, The Email Standards Project whose aim it is to put pressure on companies like Microsoft and Google to improve their support for Email standards and make life easier for developers, reducing the load on servers and improving accessibility, in turn making email production cheaper for marketing companies, and ISPs. Already at 100,000 visits in 18 hours, this project has a lot of support, and I for one am behind it. So spread the word! |
